& Every Day That You Want to CHANGE..

Dear Friends,

I’m terribly sorry I have been away for so long. I just realized how long it had been since I last posted, and I’m shocked. I haven’t done very well with keeping to my goal of a weekly post/learning a new technique. Not to fear! I haven’t been lazy whilst I’ve been gone. Au contraire! I’ve transferred locations for my job, left that job (because it brought about more stress than happiness), and started a new program at a new school that I’m absolutely in love with (massage therapy).

I’ve also been quite busy reading and writing and watching every movie possible. Oh and I mustn’t forget about all of the music I’ve purchased and been playing like it’s going out of style. I’ve read Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, One Day by David Nicholls, started The Help by Kathryn Stockett, and made a nice dent in the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling. I’ve written my latest edition of my bucket list (5 pages!), school papers, etc. I’ve seen too many movies for my own good. My most recent line is that I’m going to single-handedly keep the film industry in business (no worries film majors!). Let’s see..there’s been Harry Potter Pt 2 (twice..three times as of next Monday), Something Borrowed, One Day, The Help, Transformers 3 (twice)..you get the point I’m sure. 🙂

And now for the music portion of the article (secretly my favorite!). I’ve recently downloaded Running from a Gamble by Company of Thieves, Future Fears (EP) by Ocean is Theory, Young Love by Mat Kearney, The Lovesick by Jason Reeves, Barton Hollow by The Civil Wars, and Torches by Foster the People. I’ve also purchased tickets to see The Civil Wars, Mat Kearney, and Friendly Fires in concert!! (Trans Siberian Orchestra tickets will be purchased as soon as they go on sale!) Oh and before I forget to mention..the title for this post came from lyrics by Foster the People (namely their song Waste).

And now for a little on the pictures I’ll be attaching to this post..

I was inspired to shoot this small set of photos after reading an article about subjects for macro photography. The article touched on different subjects one could choose to document based on patterns, color, sentimentality, etc. The photos I took framed the theme for what my life has consisted of recently – reading, writing, massage therapy, and the central theme of CHANGE.

If there is anything that’s been prominent in my life this year, it is CHANGE. I typically don’t like change. I resist it. I adapt very well no matter where I am, but I would absolutely rather not deal with it..before this year, that is. I’ve seen best friends move, budding friendships and the like fall by the wayside, people shifting in and out of jobs, a passion for a new creative outlet, the light of a new career path, graduations, weddings..the list goes on, but the all involve CHANGE. I’ve seen a different side of what this can mean. A time for change can be a good thing! It can be a happy and hopeful time. CHANGE has been good to me and most of my friends and family this year. Perhaps just my opinion of CHANGE has been good this year. 🙂

Anywho..back to the photos..I hope you enjoy and can appreciate them for what they stand for. (And maybe be inspired to make a change in your life too!)
