DAY 161

“Courage is the ultimate career move.”
– Anna Quindlen

“Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Strength is a matter of a made up mind.”
– John Beecher

“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.”
– Ana‹s Nin

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
– Anne Frank

There were a few hours where I was able to just chill out and take advantage of some much-needed interweb browsing time. Anything photography-related, I was on it today! (Side note: Baby’s new lens cap arrived! Cheers!) I caught up with my 3 favorite photog blogs: Tamara Lackey http://tamaralackey.com/blog/; Cole Gorman http://blestphotography.com/; & Jasmine Star http://www.jasminestarblog.com/. I don’t think I could ever thank these three superstars enough for the advice, resources, encouragement, & examples they have provided. I vow here and now to thank (complete with a big hug) if I’m ever privileged enough to meet any of them.

I had an opportunity to also check out the full list of finalists and victors for the Best of the Triangle list carried out by Independent Weekly. I managed to bookmark a few places that sparked my interest (there were SO many).

In other news, the fam may be headed to Pigeon Forge, TN this summer (yay!). We’ve visited the area several times. It’s fair to say it’s a beloved place for the family. Our favorite pastimes? Go-cart racing and visiting this hot spot – Apple Barn Village. Also on the to-see list – thanks to my interweb browsing afternoon – Cades Cove & the Titanic Museum.

Best quote of the day belongs to M. We were coloring and somehow got on the topic of skin tone. I turned to her – “M, what color is your skin?” “Brown.” “What color is mine?” “Skinny!” Who says kids aren’t smart?!

Take a look at the trailer for The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. I was told about it tonight and definitely want to see it now.
