Running Up That Hill

I’m back!! There’s been so many changes taking place and I have not had time to post a set of photos I took nearly 2 weeks ago! My apologies, everyone!

Let’s get to the nitty gritty, shall we?! First of all, Placebo is to thank for the song that inspired the title for this post, Running Up That Hill. The song played on the trailer for the Gettysburg special on the History Channel a few weeks ago, and I’ve been obsessed ever since!

On to the pictures! The back story as to the inspiration for the pictures ties in strongly with Ron Howard’s Project Imagin8ion. There were 8 categories that photos could be submitted to (setting, time, character, mood, relationship, goal, obstacle, the unknown). The end result for the project will be a short film by Mr. Howard, which will have been inspired by one photo from each category. Needless to say, I submitted quite a few of the photos you are about to view, and others simply presented themselves during this time. The better part of these pictures were taken with the Goal, Obstacle, or The Unknown categories in mind. Their titles reflect this as well.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Show Me What I’m Looking For

Guys and ladies.. check this out! My first picture taking adventure with black and white photography, which I learned should be called grayscale photography. Now, don’t get me wrong – I’ve taken black and white photos before, but this was my first spin around the block with my fancy new piece of equipment. I was able to do so much more! I was able to focus more on the lighting and angles. I tried to mess around with the aperture in a few pictures, but most of the shots seemed to set themselves up quite nicely. I’ve never put up this many photos, but it was difficult for me to narrow it down to this group.

Before I forget to mention it.. the title for this entry is a song by Carolina Liar. Yet another one of the groups I love! The song seemed to fit because when I was randomly clicking, the pictures arranged themselves.

Enjoy!
Write again soon.
