Today was the annual get together for my dad’s company. Lots of great food, fun people, & the annual basketball game. Complete with a post-game soak in the hot tub. Don’t mind if I do! I think I can confidently say a great time was had by all.

I am thankful for: spending time with people I care about.

“He was in the middle of the road, so I said ‘mufasa’!” – Meredith

For those of you who may not have the awesome chance to hang out with me, I laugh. A lot. To the point where I’m crying, “talking” in a high-pitched voice, and just generally being a goofball. Tonight, world, I had one of those nights. Meredith and I were on our way home when there was a gentleman in the road, walking at a snail’s pace. Long story short, we ended up with the Mufassa quote! The laughter continued and there were tears, an ab workout, and sore throats. Totally worth it! I love having laugh attacks. It’s good for the soul!

When we arrived home, we saw my brother who proceeded to ask what we had been recreationally tapping into. Nothing, I can assure you. My colorful way of answering, however, resulted in the quote above about living the high life without the high. Sometimes I make myself laugh too!

It’s Friday!!! Which meant – yoga! And dinner, followed by dessert. Yum! Yoga was amazing. I needed it badly and Bull City Yoga was there to save the day! I love classes with Ali. We proceeded to have dinner at Bali Hai (awesome place!) and dessert at Francesca’s on Ninth Street.

Interesting finds:

Remember this kissing couple..http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2011/06/17/vancouver-riot-kissing-couple-eyewitness.html
A few years ago, there were riots in Canada following a hockey game. This couple was photographed kissing in the middle of the street. I never really read or heard about the actual events that unfolded, so I found this article that my special (someone) shared with me interesting and very sweet.

I am thankful for: colorful cows and beautiful sunsets.

In case I’ve failed to mention it in the past 232 posts, I watch tiny humans (more commonly known as children) for a “job”. Believe me when I say I use the airquotes when asked what my job is. I don’t feel one bit like I’m working when I hangout with any of my peeps. I’ve basically given myself the opportunity to constantly play, act silly, and be a goofball. Oh, also repeat myself with synonymous words. It’s cool, just roll with it. So today, I was presented with this yo-yo that had no string, but lit up – it was strange and hilarious to me. [Insert my quote, which has become the title for the post here.] I hope that’s given you some sense of better understanding.

Also today, the tiny humans couldn’t find me while playing Hide-&-Seek. How two boys cannot find a 5’6″ babysitter in their own house had me in stitches today! They’d look in two places, call it quits, and wait it out until I’d walk out of some hallway and scream, “Where were you?! We looked everywhere.” Ha! (Babysitters, parents, grandparents, general public – great game to play!)

This evening in class we learned about Rosemary in aromatherapy. We even discovered there is a rosemary plant growing outside the school! You know what that means – field trip! All the way down the hall and out the door. I’ll quite obviously take any field trips I can get!

My shirt from ThisShirtHelps arrived today!! I have tried it on, but will take and post a picture of it after I’ve washed it. I love this organization. I hope you’ll check them out!

I am thankful for: Rosemary, which is for remembering.

Calm, yet productive rainy Sunday. Just what I like! The Hunger Games is now out on DVD! It made for the perfect rainy day movie.

I am thankful for: hearts being pieced together.

He’s In the Nest..

DAY 231

“Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become.” – Jim Rohn

I witnessed one of the most perfectly hilarious, sweet, and touching weddings today. There were so many personal touches and little details that made the day. But not only that, there were so many great people at the wedding. I think it speaks volumes about people when they are surrounded by so much love, appreciation, & kindness. I’m so grateful to have such wonderful people in my life. One of whom happens to be a sprightly young boy. It was his aunt’s wedding, and he was my date! We had a blast and even got a workout – we must have run/walked/jogged the length of the driving range at least 5 times. He helped me take the picture of the pink cloud that looks like a distant mountain.

Oh, he’s also responsible for the quote that I’ve used as the title. He has a DVD of Christmas songs, which he wanted to watch this afternoon. There was a scene of baby Jesus in the manger and M said, “He’s in the nest, Brittany!”

I am thankful for: the people in my life.

A day that started out not so great, turned out to be wonderful! I met some of the sweetest and funniest people in clinic today! I also found out I’m booked out a few weeks already, which is super encouraging for me as a budding massage therapist. I couldn’t be more happy with this feeling that I’ve chosen the absolute best path for my life.

The picture is of part of a new dress I got. It has birdies!!

I am thankful for: the opportunity to re-type words (took me like 8 tries to type “for”).

I am thankful for: nurses. random acts of kindness.
